I have lived with terriers for over 70 years, growing up with a succession of Airedale Terriers, some bred by my Mother, and since 2000 with Border Terriers too.

I competed in Agility and Obedience with two of my Border Terriers, winning the Kennel Club Agility Starters Cup Final at Discover Dogs in 2010 and qualifying for the Kennel Club Special Pre-Beginners Obedience Semi-Final at Discover Dogs on five occasions, once with both dogs and once reaching the Crufts Final.

I have been a member of the Kennel Club’s team demonstrating the Good Citizen Dog Gold and Silver Obedience Tests with one of my Borders at Crufts and at Discover Dogs. We also demonstrated Heelwork to Music in the Kennel Club’s ‘Dog Activities’ zone at Crufts.

I was a volunteer with Pets As Therapy, visiting care homes with my two Airedale Terriers and my first Border Terrier, who was voted one of six ‘PAT Dog of the Year’ finalists in 2008.

For 20 years I was a supporter of Border Terrier Welfare, in later years I was North Hampshire representative.

Having lived with no less than 9 dogs until the age of 20 I have always loved spending time with and looking after Border Terriers. I would like nothing more than to see the breed be a shining example of how owners should look after their pets.
