An Ultra Distance for an Ultra Breed

One of BTLL’s volunteers, Henry, is going to be completing an ultra-marathon (63km or one and a half marathons) to help raise money. More specifically the money will be going towards funding research into CECS in Border terriers. This is a significant issue in Border Terriers and we currently think that is underfunded and not enough is known within the BT community.

If you would like more information on the topic we recommend the Border Terrier Health page that covers this topic specifically.

Henry will be competing on 2nd April to accomplish this extrodinary distance and if you would like help by sponsoring him then please visit his Just Giving page.

Wendy

Wendy has owned and loved Border Terriers for over 30 years.   Having been “dog-mad” all her life, when she finally got to own her very own dogs, she and her husband, chose Border Terriers and they have not been without two or more in the home ever since!

Over the years she has got involved with showing her Borders which in turn led to more and more involvement in all aspects of the breed including breeding, grooming, and judging.  She has been a committee member of one of the Border Terrier breed clubs for 17 years and has organised and run shows for them for many years.  She has also been an officer on a general breed society and worked as a trustee and officer for a UK registered animal welfare charity.  She enjoys all aspects of dog ownership and canine matters and has volunteered and served as a committee member/official for other breeds’ clubs.

She has owned other breeds, including Norwegian Elkhounds and Petit Bassets Griffon Vendeen.
